Current Status of Trainee Who Was Eliminated Despite Ranking First in Survival Show Due to Manipulation

She faced heartbreak in 2017 when she participated in “Idol School“. Despite her efforts, she was unfairly eliminated due to manipulation by the production team, who had already pre-selected the debut lineup.

“Idol School” aired in 2017 as a survival show for female trainees. A shocking truth was revealed in 2021 when the production team was convicted of vote manipulation. It was discovered that Lee Hae-in had actually ranked first in the final results, but was manipulated into 11th place, leading to her elimination.
This revelation sparked outrage as it was not just a case of broadcast manipulation but a serious crime that trampled on the dreams and hard work of young trainees, causing a huge impact on the Korean entertainment industry.

However, Lee Hae-in used this painful experience as a stepping stone and is now thriving in a completely new role. After pursuing a solo singing career, she is currently working as the creative director for the junior girl group KISS OF LIFE. She was involved in every aspect of the group’s production, from the selection of members to the debut concept, contributing significantly to their successful launch.

Recently, Lee Hae-in has also taken on the role of director for JTBC’s new boy group audition show “PROJECT 7”, which moves away from the traditional format where viewer votes only affected rankings. Instead, the show emphasizes diverse viewer participation in areas like team formation and missions.

Despite suffering from the unfair practices of the broadcasting industry, Lee Hae-in has not given up and continues to flourish in her career, earning ongoing support from fans.
