On the 12th, a press conference for the movie “Daechi-dong Scandal” was held at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Director Kim Soo-in, along with actors Ahn Sohee, Park Sangnam, Takuya, and Jo Eunyu, attended the event.

“Daechi-dong Scandal” is a story set in Daechi-dong, a battleground of private education and a hub of desire. It follows the encounter between top instructor Yoon Im (played by Ahn Sohee) and schoolteacher Ki Haeng (played by Park Sangnam), which leads to rumors about leaked exam questions and forces Yoon Im to confront her forgotten college days. The film is directed by Kim Soo-in, who brought a fresh perspective to Chungmuro with “Dokin” and has written and adapted various films.

Ahn Sohee recalled the efforts she put into portraying her top instructor character. She said, “When I first received the script, I watched various instructors’ videos on YouTube to gather information.” She explained that she was greatly helped by Director Kim’s personal experiences. Ahn Sohee shared, “The director spent time as a Korean instructor in Daechi-dong and shared many stories. I think I modeled Yoon Im after the director.”

She also expressed her gratitude to her co-workers on “Daechi-dong Scandal.” Ahn Sohee said, “My birthday fell during the filming. Since the shooting schedule was tight, I was worried about the pace, especially when we had to film long and significant scenes. But they prepared a surprise party during the shoot,” evoking a warm atmosphere. She added, “I was touched, but I felt I didn’t express my gratitude well, so I want to convey my thanks,” with a smile.
