Did Lee Dong-hwi Hint at His Breakup with Jung Ho-yeon? “I Keep Lee Young-ji in My Heart”
Following the news of their breakup, Lee Dong-hwi‘s recent appearance on KBS 2TV’s variety show “The Seasons: Lee Young-ji’s Rainbow” has gained renewed attention.
During the November 22 broadcast, Lee Dong-hwi said, “There are three people I keep in my heart: Director Bong Joon-ho, senior Choi Min-sik, and Lee Young-ji.” He added “I always think of them as extraordinary people. It’s an honor to meet her like this“, expressing his admiration for Lee Young-ji.
Lee Dong-hwi even chose Lee So-ra’s “First Feeling as it is” to perform on the show, inspired by his thoughts about Lee Young-ji. Reflecting on a past encounter at an awards ceremony, he shared with a hint of humor and disappointment, “I expressed my admiration back then, calling her a ‘genius girl’. But her response was unexpectedly, ‘Please don’t come any closer.’“

He also revealed that he had repeatedly sent messages to Lee Young-ji on SNS, saying things like, “You’re so amazing” and “I want to appear on ‘The Seasons’.” He joked, “Thankfully, I finally got a reply today. She hadn’t responded since Chuseok, but I got an answer before Lunar New Year.“
Meanwhile, a representative of Jung Ho-yeon confirmed with Newsen on November 26, “It is true that Jung Ho-yeon and Lee Dong-hwi have broken up.”
Lee Dong-hwi will appear in Disney+’s drama “Low Life”, set to release next year. The series revolves around a group of unlikely villains, including Lee Dong-hwi’s character, who try to make a lot of money by using a treasure ship buried in the sea. The drama also stars Ryu Seung-ryong, Yang Se-jong and Lim Soo-jung.
