On March 5, Lisa appeared as a guest on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” to discuss her highly anticipated debut full album, “ALTER EGO,” as well as her first acting role in “The White Lotus.”

During the interview, Lisa shared insights into her experience filming “The White Lotus.” When asked about the cast’s dynamic during production, she revealed that they often spent time together outside of filming.

Shortly after the interview aired, a selectively edited clip of Lisa’s remarks began circulating online, sparking controversy. An account on X (formerly Twitter) called TheFlopKpop posted an out-of-context version of the interview, implying that Lisa had claimed she does not sing at all. The edited clip quickly gained traction, fueling debates online.

The altered clip featured the following exchange:

Jimmy Kimmel: Oh! You don’t sing?

Lisa: I don’t.

Jimmy Kimmel: Oh, never?

Lisa: I’m more into dancing. I love dancing.

Jimmy Kimmel: So you’re the type to go on stage but stay in the background, kind of not really… right?

Lisa: Yeah! I feel really strange when I hold a mic and sing.

However, fans were quick to clarify that Lisa’s comments were taken out of context. She was referring specifically to karaoke sessions with “The White Lotus” cast, not her professional performances.

In the full conversation, Jimmy Kimmel had actually asked, “When you sing karaoke, are there people who are not involved with the production there? Like, do they lose their minds when they see you singing karaoke?”

Lisa then responded, “They don’t care. I’m just sitting in a corner of the room, cheering everyone on, and hyping them up.” The conversation then continued into the now-infamous cut-out clip.

Despite the clarification, TheFlopKpop continued to fuel the controversy. However, their video was soon taken down due to copyright infringement, highlighting the ongoing issue of misinformation spreading online.
