At 2 p.m. on May 14th, the Seoul Central District Court held the fifth trial for Yoo Ah-in and his friend Choi on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act.

That day, Oh recalled the medical record of Yoo Ah-in when the actor visited his hospital for the first time on June 29th, 2021. Accordingly, the media record of Yoo Ah-in written by Oh states, “Continuous complaints of depression, including thoughts of death”.

Oh wrote the same things in the medical record when Yoo Ah-in visited him the second time on July 1st and on July 6th as well.

In addition, Oh mentioned Yoo Ah-in’s visit on April 29th, 2022, saying “Seeing Yoo Ah-in’s face as he returned to the hospital after a long time, I noticed that he had lost a lot of weight. His suicidal motives had increased. The actor specifically said, ‘I feel so anxious’, ‘I’m nervous’, ‘I can’t concentrate on anything’, ‘I easily get distracted’, etc., and noted such feelings on the chart. I remember prescribing medication to help him control his anxiety due to those symptoms.”

According to Oh’s medical records submitted by Yoo Ah-in’s legal representative as evidence, Yoo Ah-in said, “I’ve lost a lot of weight, and also had physical problems. I feel the urge to end my life even when I act and my physical strength is much lower than before. I don’t feel any better and I think I’m getting symptoms I haven’t had before”.

In October last year, Yoo Ah-in was indicted without detention on charges of habitually using propofol, illegally purchasing sleeping pills under the name of someone else, smoking marijuana and instructing others to smoke marijuana, as well as destroying evidence. His friend Choi was charged with smoking marijuana, threatening, and escaping crimes, etc.

According to the prosecutors, Yoo Ah-in habitually received prescriptions for medical propofol 181 times at hospitals in Seoul from September 2020 to March 2022 and received illegal prescriptions of sleeping pills under someone else’s name 44 times from May 2021 to August 2022. Previously, the police and prosecutors requested arrest warrants for Yoo Ah-in but they were all rejected by the court.

Yoo Ah-in admitted only to smoking marijuana in the first trial in December last year. He denied all the other allegations, saying “These matters are debatable”. Regarding the charges of administering other drugs besides propofol, the actor claimed, “There are exaggerated parts”.

Regarding the allegations that he instructed YouTube Kim to smoke marijuana and destroyed evidence, the actor denied them all, saying “I did not recommend marijuana or gave it to anyone”, adding “I never asked for the deletion of the text messages and messages cannot be considered evidence in a criminal case. Even if the evidence is true, deleting it does not constitute the crime of evidence destruction. I strongly deny this. I never sent any text message to Kim”.
