DJ Yesong, who made no response after killing a person while drunk driving, has been sentenced to prison.
On December 15, media outlet Newsis reported that the Supreme Court’s Third Division, led by Presiding Justice Lee Heung-gu, upheld the ruling against DJ Yesong on December 10, dismissing her appeal. She was charged under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes (Dangerous Driving Resulting in Death) and other violations.

The incident occurred on February 3, around 4 AM (KST), in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam, Seoul. DJ Yesong, driving a Mercedes-Benz while heavily intoxicated with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.221%, crashed into a delivery motorcycle, causing the death of a man in his 50s.
It was revealed that just 10 minutes before the fatal accident, DJ Yesong had crossed the centerline and collided with another vehicle but fled the scene. Additionally, she made no response following the incident, leading to heavy criticism.
On top of that, reports indicate that the female DJ failed to provide any emergency assistance, held her dog at the scene as the victim died, resisted police arrest, and had to be forcibly taken into custody.
DJ Yesong was initially sentenced to 10 years in prison in the first trial. However, her sentence was reduced to 8 years in the appeals court. The Supreme Court’s decision to dismiss her appeal means that the 8-year prison sentence is now final.
Meanwhile, DJ Yesong’s real name is Ahn Ye-song. She was a member of the group INSTAR under Inter B.D. Entertainment, but later became an DJ.
