Elon Musk Calls G-Dragon “The King of K-pop” After Cybertruck Sighting in Seoul

On June 15, Elon Musk set the internet abuzz by retweeting a post that praised G-Dragon as “the king of K-pop” after the artist arrived in a Tesla Cybertruck in Seoul. The tweet from Teslaconomics read, “Just watch what happens when the king of K-pop, G-Dragon, shows up in a Cybertruck in Korea,” and swiftly racked up over 1 million views.
That very day, G-Dragon made a headline-grabbing entrance at the Grand Hyatt Seoul in Yongsan for the launch of his latest highball drink. The K-pop icon’s Cybertruck was custom-wrapped with his PEACEMINUSONE logo, reflecting his signature creative touch. He also revealed version 3 of his designer highball, which features artwork he personally created.
In a move that underscored his philanthropic side, G-Dragon donated ₩880 million KRW (~$643,000 USD) to the JusPeace Foundation, where he serves as honorary chairman. The donation, themed around the number 8—a symbol of infinity—highlighted both his generosity and symbolic attention to detail.
This wasn’t the first time G-Dragon turned heads with the futuristic Tesla. In November 2024, he made waves by pulling up to Incheon International Airport in the same vehicle.
Although Elon Musk didn’t add a personal message to his viral retweet, the post’s explosive reach spoke volumes. Adding to the global buzz, Maye Musk, Elon’s mother and a prominent fashion model and author, also shared a related tweet from TCMesla. That tweet described G-Dragon’s Cybertruck as a “war vehicle” and praised his appearance at the PEACEMINUSONE Premium Highball Launch Party – THE SIGNAL.
The Musk family’s online spotlight on G-Dragon further solidifies his status as a cultural icon, showing how his influence extends beyond music into tech, fashion, and philanthropy. With this rare cross-industry recognition, G-Dragon proves once again why he reigns as a global trendsetter.
