On April 11, a video titled “The Sister We Loved Back Then” was posted to Ham Eun-jung’s YouTube channel.

When someone mentioned “More older people must recognize you now that you appeared in daily dramas”, she responded, “Older viewers have been watching my acting for a long time. They know how I’ve grown. Gaining recognition from them is the hardest. Being acknowledged by mothers is my goal now.”

She also touched on the passing of her mother in November last year. Reflecting on the time, Ham Eun-jung said, “After my mother passed away, I honestly didn’t think I’d be able to film YouTube videos.” She added, “A lot of people told me that. Even fellow actors said the same. I met them about a month after my mother passed away, and they said they were worried at first.” As an only child, Ham Eun-jung shared a particularly close bond with her mother. She revealed they had even planned to create content together.

She continued, “While filming a variety show in Vietnam, I received news that my mother had passed away. Most people in that situation would say, ‘Please get me the next flight back.’ I wanted to do that too, but instead I told the production team ‘If you tell me what I have to do in Korea, I’ll finish it up’ then I boarded the plane.” She added, “From what I’ve heard from others who’ve gone through similar situations, it’s the same. Work is work, and my mother’s passing is a separate matter. I still go to work and meet friends like before. That routine gives me a sense of stability. I’m trying to live.”

She went on to say, “When sadness comes, I become a surfer. But once it passes, I come back down. Sadness will come again, but I can deal with it as it comes. I have to keep living… I just try to accept the sudden waves of sorrow.”
