Kwon Mina Shares Calm Daily Life After Addressing AOA Jimin Feud and Controversies

On Oct 23rd, Kwon Mina posted several photos with the caption “After finishing work“, showing her recent activities.
In the photos, she is seen sitting alone in a waiting room, receiving makeup and hair styling, exuding a sense of calm following her recent explanation regarding various controversies.

On Oct 22nd, Kwon Mina posted a lengthy statement addressing various controversies surrounding her.
Regarding allegations that she stole her ex-boyfriend from another woman, Kwon Mina explained, “I was told that he had ended things with his girlfriend, which is why I started dating him. However, I later found out that he was secretly dating both of us. When a post surfaced suggesting he was dating me while still with her, I confronted him, and he assured me that they had broken up.”
She continued, “At that time, I had no choice but to believe what my boyfriend said. I even recorded our conversation, though I don’t know if that recording still exists since my acquaintance has it. Later, when I learned the truth, I apologized to the other woman, her parents, and even my ex-boyfriend’s parents.”

On the “nurse mistreatment” incident, Kwon Mina clarified, “The nurse spoke to me harshly over the phone, which upset me, so we met and discussed our grievances. I didn’t get her fired, and we resolved the matter.“
As for the “smoking in a hotel room” controversy, she admitted, “I’m really sorry. I had checked into a smoking room and didn’t know it wasn’t allowed. Posting that photo was a huge mistake. I paid a 300,000 won fine and apologized.”
Kwon Mina particularly addressed her 2020 accusations of long-term bullying, abuse and verbal harassment by former AOA member Jimin. “I cursed at her because I had been physically hit, emotionally hurt, and suffered for 10 years. I was constantly insulted and belittled. I still don’t know why it happened. After my contract ended, my anger boiled over. I had endured it for 10 years, and I just wanted to lash out once.“

She added, “But I went too far… Of course, I can’t explain everything I experienced here, but at the time, I thought what I did was justified. Looking back, it was a short-sighted decision. The photos of self-harm I posted were also extreme, and I regret that many young people and fans saw them. I’ve caused too much stress for the public, and I won’t mention this anymore. I’ll just focus on moving forward.”
Kwon Mina and Choa both debuted with AOA in 2012. Choa left the group in 2017, and Kwon Mina departed in 2019.
In 2020, shortly after her departure, Kwon Mina revealed that AOA’s leader Jimin had bullied her for years, causing a massive controversy. As a result, Jimin left the group, though she later returned as a solo artist.
