Ex-Boyfriend Breaks Silence on Kim Sae-ron’s Tragic Death, Calls Out Her Abusive Husband
On March 25, Kim Sae-ron‘s ex-boyfriend, identified as A, spoke in an exclusive interview with “The Fact,” firmly denying any connection between Kim Sae-ron’s passing and actor Kim Soo-hyun, “I know for a fact that Kim Sae-ron’s death was not because of Kim Soo-hyun.”
Did Kim Sae-ron’s Abusive Husband Play a Role in Her Tragic Death?
To support his statement, A revealed a series of text messages exchanged between himself, Kim Sae-ron, and her “New York husband,” referred to as B. These messages shed light on the distressing abuse she endured in her marriage.
Kim Sae-ron had confided in A about the circumstances that led her to be with B, expressing feelings of deep loneliness and vulnerability, “Every day was so difficult, and I felt completely alone, like I had no one to lean on. That’s why I let my guard down.”
However, the relationship soon turned into a nightmare. She described B’s aggressive and controlling behavior, revealing the extent of his emotional and physical abuse. “He threatened to leak my KakaoTalk messages and photos, hacked my Instagram, posted things on my behalf, hit me, and cursed at me. I was terrified. That’s why I couldn’t leave him. And I was afraid it would affect you too.”
A Family That Was Never There
A further claimed that Kim Sae-ron’s deepest suffering came from her family’s neglect.
According to The Fact, in November of the previous year, she sustained severe wrist injuries due to self-harm and required urgent surgery. Despite being informed, none of her family members came to see her at the hospital. A recounted how he stayed by her side throughout the ordeal, while a staff member from her former agency covered her medical expenses.
Kim Sae-ron’s Passing and the Kim Soo-hyun Scandal
Kim Sae-ron was found deceased at her home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, on February 16, a date that coincided with actor Kim Soo-hyun’s birthday. In the aftermath, her family made waves by alleging, through the controversial YouTube channel Garo Sero Research Institute, that she had been romantically involved with Kim Soo-hyun while still a minor.
Kim Soo-hyun’s agency refuted the claims but acknowledged that they had dated from mid-2019 to late 2020, after she had reached adulthood. The situation escalated when Garo Sero released a photo of Kim Soo-hyun pantsless while washing dishes, which his agency condemned as a violation of privacy meant to cause “sexual humiliation.” Legal action has since been announced against both Garo Sero and Kim Sae-ron’s family.
