Explosive New Revelations in Kim Sae-ron’s Death: Is Kim Soo-hyun Wrongfully Accused?
On March 25, The Fact released an interview with Kim Sae-ron’s ex-boyfriend, K, who refuted claims linking her death to Kim Soo-hyun. “Sae-ron did not die because of actor Kim Soo-hyun. She wouldn’t have wanted the truth about her death to be distorted. For her sake, I want to reveal the hidden reality,” he stated.
Following Kim Sae-ron’s passing, Garo Sero Research Institute and her family alleged she had suffered greatly due to a video expose by YouTuber Lee Jin-ho and announced legal action. They also claimed Kim Soo-hyun had dated her as a minor and sent a certified letter demanding she repay 700 million KRW (approximately 480,000 USD) from her DUI penalties. This fueled speculation, as Kim Soo-hyun’s team insisted they only dated after she became an adult, contradicting Garo Sero’s claims.
Meanwhile, Lee Jin-ho argued that Kim Sae-ron’s struggles stemmed from a secret marriage in the U.S., claiming she had wed in New York and faced issues related to pregnancy and abortion. As accusations grew, legal battles erupted between Lee Jin-ho, Kim Soo-hyun, Garo Sero, and Kim Sae-ron’s family.
Despite the claims, no solid evidence has proven that Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron dated when she was underage. His team continues to deny all allegations.
Breaking his silence, K shared that Kim Sae-ron had married a man in New York earlier this year but later reached out to him for support. “Shortly after the wedding, she tried to rely on me, but her husband found out, took away her phone, and monitored her while verbally abusing her.” He also revealed that she had attempted self-harm multiple times and that her struggles were unrelated to Kim Soo-hyun or the alleged debt. “The certified letter was sent a year ago, so it wouldn’t have burdened her at the time,” he added.
K further exposed her family’s lack of support, recalling how she needed emergency surgery in November 2024 but no relatives came to the hospital. He stayed with her until discharge, while her agency paid the bills. “After she was discharged, I took her home, but neither her mother nor her acquaintances showed any shock or sympathy for her pain. Because of their attitude, Sae-ron always wanted to run away from everything.”
Questioning the sudden focus on her past relationship, he remarked, “She had already cut ties with her family, so the fact that they are now bringing up her relationship with a famous actor from years ago suggests ulterior motives. I have never met Kim Soo-hyun, but it seems unfair that he is being blamed simply because of his fame.”
With K’s testimony shedding new light on Kim Sae-ron’s tragic death, the focus now shifts to whether Kim Soo-hyun can clear his name amid mounting speculation.
