Famous Singer Arrested for Alleged Same-Sex Assault in Bathhouse, Mystery Deepens as He Claims Total Memory Loss

Japanese singer Kousuke Atari, renowned for his contributions to anime soundtracks such as “BLEACH” and “Natsume’s Book of Friends,” has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a man in his 20s at a Tokyo bathhouse.

Police revealed that on March 28 at approximately 2 a.m., Atari is suspected of committing lewd acts against a young male victim who was dozing on a chair in the rest area of a bathhouse in Shinagawa Ward. The victim reportedly detained Atari on the spot, and bathhouse staff called authorities, leading to Atari’s immediate arrest.
Atari’s agency posted an official apology on their website, stating they will “consider future entertainment activities after investigating the facts.” However, during police questioning, Atari denied the allegations, claiming he has “no memory whatsoever” of the alleged same-sex sexual assault.

Atari debuted in 2006 and gained popularity with songs like “Sansara” and “Hana,” which was featured as the opening theme for Fuji TV’s documentary series “The Nonfiction.” He is also known for performing “Tane wo Maku Hibi,” the 13th ending theme for “BLEACH,” and “Natsu Yuuzora,” the ending theme for “Natsume’s Book of Friends.”
The news has elicited strong reactions from fans and the public, with many expressing shock and disappointment over the allegations against the artist.
