“Filming Bed Scenes from Multiple Angles Is Fine” Park Ji-hyun of ‘The Hidden Face’ Brims with Desire

On November 19, Park Ji-hyun met with reporters at a café in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul to discuss her role in the movie. Set to premiere on November 20, “The Hidden Face” follows Seong-jin (played by Song Seung-heon) as he searches for his missing fiancée Soo-yeon (played by Cho Yeo-jeong). The plot thickens when Soo-yeon’s junior Mi-joo (played by Park Ji-hyun) enters the picture, leading to the revelation that Soo-yeon is trapped in a hidden space nearby, exposing raw truths in this intense thriller.
Park Ji-hyun shared her thoughts, “I’m glad to hear reactions like ‘It’s intriguing and fun’. With just a day left before the release, I don’t feel nervous. There’s nothing I can change now. We had fun filming, so regardless of the outcome, I’m not overly concerned. I hope many people watch it. I gained so much throughout the process, so I’d be content if viewers simply acknowledged, ‘There’s an actress like her.’”

Regarding her bold exposure scenes, she candidly remarked, “Performing scenes with exposure wasn’t nerve-wracking for me. In the scene where Mi-joo seduces Seong-jin in front of Soo-yeon, the exposure wasn’t the focus. When I select projects, I imagine the scenes in advance, and for this one, I felt that direction made sense. The director shared similar thoughts, and I agreed with him.”
When asked about whether bold exposure scenes are typically left for rookie actors, Park Ji-hyun replied, “I think it was better that I did this after gaining some recognition. It means more people will take notice of it. I don’t think exposure is only for rookies. No matter when this project had come to me, I would have chosen it. Whether I was less or more famous, I would have made the same choice, but I do believe that being more recognized means the work will receive greater attention.”

She also touched on her family’s reaction to her daring role, saying with a bright smile, “My parents have always supported me since I became an adult and started my acting career. They trust my decisions. For this role, they neither said ‘Good for you’ nor did they feel upset. They respected my choice.”
“The Hidden Face” will premiere in theaters nationwide on November 20.
