Former CLC Member Elkie Hospitalized Due to Carbon Monoxide Poisoning, Warns Public of the Dangers

Former CLC member Elkie has revealed that she was recently hospitalized due to carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning, using her experience to raise awareness about the dangers of this silent killer.
On May 2, Elkie took to her personal Instagram to share photos from the hospital and explain the frightening experience. “Yesterday morning, I woke up with a severe headache. While I was about to take some medicine, everything suddenly went dark, I hit multiple things, and then collapsed,” she wrote.
“I was taken to the hospital by ambulance, and only then did I find out it was carbon monoxide poisoning.” The cause was reportedly a gas leak. “The gas has no smell, color, or sound, so I simply thought I was tired and sleepy. I really didn’t notice anything wrong.”

At the hospital, Elkie’s blood showed a carboxyhemoglobin level of 20%—far above the normal range of 1–1.5%. Elkie revealed she is currently undergoing hyperbaric oxygen therapy and assured fans, “My condition is stable now. I’m grateful to the friends who helped me.”
Elkie emphasized the seriousness of CO poisoning and shared prevention tips from her personal experience. “Carbon monoxide is hard to detect since it’s odorless, colorless, and silent. If your home has a water heater, gas stove, coal heater, etc., make sure you ventilate the area properly and install a CO detector.” She also advised that if CO poisoning is suspected, one should immediately open windows, leave the area, go to a hospital, or call for help.

“This incident was truly dangerous. Luckily, I am recovering without any major injuries. Please don’t take safety for granted—protect yourselves and those around you,” Elkie concluded.

Born in 1998 in Hong Kong, Elkie joined CLC in 2016 and officially debuted in the South Korean entertainment industry. In February 2021, she left Cube Entertainment and also departed from the group.
