On December 2, Tao (Huang Zitao) announced the news of his marriage on his SNS account by posting the phrase “Goal achieved” alongside several photos.
The aforementioned images show Tao and Xu Yiyang, a former trainee under SM Entertainment and artist under Tao’s company, holding a marriage certificate together. Tao further confirmed the union with bride and groom emojis, formalizing their wedding announcement.
Xu Yiyang, Tao’s wife, is known for her time as an SM trainee. In 2016, she appeared on “My SM Television” alongside aespa’s Ningning. After leaving SM in 2018, Xu pursued a career as a singer and actress in China.
Rumors of their relationship have been circulating since 2020. It wasn’t until July this year that the couple officially acknowledged they were dating.
Tao had previously expressed his love publicly, sharing a photo of the couple kissing by the sea with the caption, “I hope we will be together forever.”
In August, a video of Tao proposing to Xu surfaced online, capturing a heartfelt moment where Tao knelt before Xu and said, “From the moment we first met, I believed our journey was already destined. Please walk this path with me until the end. May I have the honor of marrying you? Can you promise yourself to me?”
The proposal earned applause and admiration from fans.
Meanwhile, Tao debuted as a member of EXO under SM Entertainment in 2012, but departed the group in 2015 after three years of activities. He is now focused on his career in China.
