Gwangmyeong Police Station in Gyeonggi Province said on June 13th that it has received three complaints asking for an investigation into former T-ara member Areum on charges of fraud. Three complaints have been filed, and the total amount of damage is reported to be around 37 million won.
The police first filed a fraudulent complaint against Areum in March. Until last month, two additional complaints were transferred from other local police stations and are under investigation.

Prior to this, Areum was sent to the prosecution without detention with her mother last month on charges of inducing minors to be taken away and violating the Child Welfare Act. She was charged with neglecting educational obligations as she did not send her children to a daycare center, which was without her ex-husband’s consent. However, she has argued that her ex-husband abused her children with violence, but some pointed out that she just made it up.
In December last year, Areum announced that she was in the process of divorcing her husband and planned to marry her boyfriend at the same time, which made headlines. However, there were various rumors about her boyfriend’s identity and some claimed that the two were borrowing money from her acquaintances. The two have reportedly broken up.
Areum joined T-ara in 2012 and withdrew from the team in 2013, a year later.
