From Won Bin to Kim Bora, IU: Stars Pay Their Respects at Kim Sae-ron’s Funeral

On Feb 17th, stars continued to arrive at the funeral hall set up at Seoul Asan Medical Center in Songpa-gu to pay their respects.

Won Bin, who worked with Kim Sae-ron in the 2010 film “The Man from Nowhere”, attended the service with a solemn expression. In the film, Won Bin played Tae-sik, a former special agent, while Kim Sae-ron portrayed So-mi, the little girl next door who gets kidnapped by a criminal organization. The film’s success propelled Kim Sae-ron into the spotlight as a promising star in Chungmuro. Won Bin, who has only appeared occasionally in commercials since then, made sure to be present for Kim Sae-ron’s final journey. His agency, Eden 9, also sent a condolence wreath in the name of the couple Won Bin and Lee Na-young.

Kim Sae-ron’s close friends in the entertainment industry, including Han So-hee, Kim Bo-ra, Kwon Hyun-bin, AKMU’s Lee Su-hyun and Lee Chan-hyuk, also visited the funeral hall. They arrived with somber expressions to mourn her passing. Kim Bo-ra expressed her grief through a condolence wreath that read, “I’ll see you again, and next time, I’ll nag you less.

Other celebrities also paid tribute. Ma Dong-seok, who worked with Kim Sae-ron in the 2018 film “The Villagers”, sent a condolence wreath, as did actor Gong Myung and the band F.T. Island. Actresses Kim Ok-vin and Seo Ye-ji honored her memory through SNS.

Kim Sae-ron was found deceased at her home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul the previous day. A friend who had arranged to meet her visited her residence, found her collapsed and called the police. Authorities confirmed that there were no signs of an outsider having broken in or criminal activity. The coffin will be borne out at 6:20 AM on Feb 19th, and the burial site has not yet been determined.
