On March 13, a Taiwanese social media account covering K-entertainment conducted a poll asking netizens if Kim Soo Hyun should leave MBC’s show Good Day due to the allegations. Despite the backlash, Kim Soo Hyun went ahead with filming that day.
The post outlined the situation, stating that Good Day had wrapped filming on February 27, but the final edit and Kim Soo Hyun’s potential removal were still under discussion. The post also noted that if Kim Soo Hyun is officially dropped, major reshoots may be required, and his participation in future projects could be at risk.
The most popular poll response was “G-Dragon must be feeling uncomfortable about this“, while other responses included, “Support for Kim Soo Hyun’s exit from the show”, “Support for his permanent removal from the industry”, and “I’ll wait for Kim Soo Hyun’s statement”
However, what caught the public’s attention was G-Dragon liking the post, leading many to speculate that he is aware of the growing backlash against Kim Soo Hyun.
Nevertheless, it is important to note that unlike the description in the poll, the production for “Good Day” was still in the process of being filmed, and Kim Soo-hyun attended the recording that took place at a location in Seoul at around 2:00 PM on March 13. It is known that Kim Soo-hyun notified the production team two days before the recording that he would not be attending, citing a local filming schedule, but suddenly showed up on set.
Meanwhile, YouTube news channel Garo Sero Research Institute claimed on March 10 that, according to Kim Sae Ron’s family, she dated Kim Soo Hyun from age 15 for six years. When Kim Soo Hyun founded Gold Medalist in 2019, Kim Sae Ron reportedly assisted with company affairs. However, after her 2022 DUI scandal, Gold Medalist allegedly demanded she repay 700 million KRW (approx. 525,000 USD) in 2024.
Kim Soo Hyun’s team denied the allegations, calling them false, and announced on March 13 that they will release an official statement next week with clear evidence to refute the rumors.
Despite the blacklash, Kim Soo Hyun continues the filming of “Good Day” on March 13. A representative from Good Day told Sports Seoul, “We have confirmed that the scheduled filming proceeded, but his schedule on the show was minimized.”
