G-Dragon Makes an Unexpected Departure from “Good Day,” Leaving Fans Wondering About His Next Move

On the March 9th episode of MBC’s “Good Day,” G-Dragon was seen pouring his energy into his latest music project, pushing himself to bring it to completion.
During the broadcast, he reunited with Jung Hyung-don and Defconn for the first time in two months. In a playful moment, he sneaked up behind Jung Hyung-don and surprised him with a back hug. Noticing his significant 21kg weight loss, G-Dragon couldn’t help but compliment him, saying, “I’ve heard rumors that you’ve been looking great lately. This is the most like a celebrity you’ve ever looked.” Jung Hyung-don, though pretending to dismiss the praise, couldn’t hide his smile.

With just 35 days remaining to finalize his project, G-Dragon opened up about his creative struggles. “Meeting these familiar faces after so long feels like receiving a huge gift. The most important part is creating the song, but I haven’t finished it yet. Before meeting everyone, I had envisioned something grand and powerful, but I realized I was thinking too rigidly. After getting inspiration from those around me, I’ve decided to scrap my previous ideas and redefine the group song’s direction.”
However, just as things seemed to be progressing, he made an unexpected announcement: “I’m stepping out.” He added, “I didn’t think about myself in this. It’s a good kind of pressure, but when people tell me, ‘You’ll figure it out,’ it actually makes me feel even more burdened.”

Later, G-Dragon was seen attending Taeyang’s solo concert, where he reunited with Taeyang and Daesung for a special stage as BIGBANG. Looking at his longtime bandmates, he declared, “I’ve been waiting for you guys. You need to inspire me. You’re my muses!” Taeyang, ever the realist, didn’t hold back, replying, “Songs usually come together at the very end. Honestly, it seems like nothing’s been done yet.” Undeterred, G-Dragon remained focused, telling them, “Since we’re making music, drop your ideas in the group chat.”
As Taeyang and Daesung began brainstorming, G-Dragon reflected on the moment, expressing his appreciation: “This is why I love our team. I can share the music I make, and they give me instant feedback.”
With their creative spark reignited, speculation is running high: Could this be the first step toward a long-awaited BIGBANG comeback?
Though his departure from “Good Day” feels like an unfinished chapter, fans can’t help but hold onto hope that this bittersweet goodbye is only the beginning of something even greater for G-Dragon and BIGBANG.
