G-Dragon Teases Explosive Celebration for BIGBANG’s 20th Anniversary During Solo Comeback Concert

G-Dragon made his long-awaited solo return to the stage on March 29, launching his “G-DRAGON WORLD TOUR [Übermensch] IN KOREA,” presented by Coupang Play, at Goyang Sports Complex. During the show, despite some controversies and criticisms, the superstar delivered a powerful live performance and dropped a major announcement, plans to celebrate BIGBANG’s 20th anniversary with a “sexy” twist.

Reflecting on the group’s journey, G-Dragon said, “About three years ago, we released ‘Still Life’ around this time. We had many plans, but due to different personal situations, we chose our own paths and are all shining in our own ways now.”

Despite former member T.O.P’s departure, G-Dragon hinted at a reunion with remaining members Taeyang and Daesung, teasing the group’s symbolic coming-of-age moment, “Next year, we’ll be 20 years old. We’re still young. And when you turn 20, you need a coming-of-age ceremony, something gross but sexy. That’s what I’m planning.” His playful yet heartfelt comment drew cheers from fans, reigniting hope for a new chapter of BIGBANG.

Additionally, in a gesture of solidarity, G-Dragon announced that 300 million KRW (approx. 205,000 USD) from the concert proceeds will be donated to wildfire relief efforts in regions like Gyeongsang and Ulsan. He emphasized that the donation was made together with his fans, stating the concert wouldn’t be possible without their ongoing support. The funds will be used to support rebuilding efforts and aid for displaced residents affected by recent large-scale fires.

G-Dragon launched his first solo world tour in 8 years with a two-day concert in Korea, performing new tracks from his album “Übermensch” and fan-favorite hits for 60,000 fans. The tour will span eight cities across seven Asian countries, including Tokyo, Osaka, Macau, and Jakarta, with all shows held in stadium-level venues, reaffirming his global K-pop star power.
As he steps into a new era of music and performance, G-Dragon is blending nostalgia with evolution, paying homage to his roots in BIGBANG while looking ahead to a bold, reimagined future, complete with a cheeky “coming-of-age ceremony” for a group that defined a generation.
