G-Dragon “Writing Lyrics for ‘POWER’ Took a While; Feels Like I Have Two Voices Now”
On the November 18 broadcast of MBC FM4U’s “Kim Eana’s Starry Night”, singer G-Dragon appeared as a guest.
Kim Eana brought up “POWER”, G-Dragon’s first new track in 88 months, praising his performance. G-Dragon humbly responded, “I used to catch on quickly, but now there are some things I can’t keep up with anymore. I realized I really need to keep using my body.”
Kim Eana especially complimented the lyrics, asking how long it took G-Dragon to write them.
G-Dragon admitted, “It took quite a while. It wasn’t something I could write in one go. The melody came to me more easily, fitting the vibe of the song pretty quickly. But since the flow is so unique, I had to match the lyrics to it while incorporating meaning and message, which ended up taking more time than I expected.”
When Kim Eana noted that G-Dragon’s voice sounded deeper, he confirmed, “Yes, even I didn’t realize it, but my everyday tone has become lower. When I record, it’s different—it feels like I’ve gained an additional voice. I think I can go lower than before, although I’m not sure if I can still go as high as I used to.“
