Garo Sero Refutes Kim Soo-hyun’s Fabrication Claims with Forensic Evidence, Reveals Alleged Breakup Message from Late Kim Sae-ron

As actor Kim Soo-hyun faces mounting scrutiny over his past relationship with the late Kim Sae-ron, the Korean Sexual Violence Relief Center, better known as Garo Sero, has publicly disputed his claim that evidence submitted by Kim Sae-ron’s family was fabricated.
Kim Soo-hyun’s Agency Denies Dating Claims During 2018
Following Kim Soo-hyun’s March 31 press conference, his agency Gold Medalist released a statement on April 2, arguing that photos presented by Kim Sae-ron’s side were taken after she became an adult and were therefore misleading.

While they acknowledged the authenticity of KakaoTalk messages and a video from 2018, they emphasized that, “The two only exchanged messages during his military leave in April 2018, but did not meet in person. They only began dating in the summer of 2019.”
The agency also confirmed that the video footage was filmed at Kim Soo-hyun’s family’s Seongsu-dong apartment, but stated,_ “His family was present, and there was no romantic relationship at that time.”_
Additionally, Gold Medalist announced they had filed a complaint against Kim Se-eui, operator of Garo Sero Research Institute, for alleged violations of the Anti-Stalking Act.
Garo Sero Responds with Forensic Counterevidence
In direct response, Garo Sero held a live broadcast, pushing back against the “fabrication” allegations and releasing data from a comprehensive forensic investigation. “We conducted analysis on 5 phones, 4 laptops, and tablets through South Korea’s largest forensic firm,” they stated.
“We have Kim Soo-hyun’s phone numbers but pixelated them for privacy. The screenshots, FaceTime, and call logs we’ve shown are partial for now.”

One of the key revelations was an alleged KakaoTalk message from Kim Sae-ron to Kim Soo-hyun, dated April 13, 2018, at 2:30 AM, during his military leave. The message reads, “Oppa, you’re there when you want to see me, but never when I need you. If you won’t try, I won’t see you anymore.”

Garo Sero claimed this message directly undermines the agency’s assertion that the two weren’t in a relationship at the time, _“Forensics don’t lie. If they weren’t dating, this would constitute grooming.” _At the time of the message, Kim Sae-ron, born July 31, 2000, was 17 by Korean age (16 by international age), raising further ethical and legal questions about their interaction.
As both sides present conflicting narratives supported by screenshots and statements, public attention continues to escalate. The controversy is not only affecting Kim Soo-hyun’s career, with sponsorships and appearances being reevaluated, but also sparking wider debate over privacy, accountability, and the ethical boundaries in relationships within the entertainment industry.
