G-Dragon Bids Farewell to ‘Good Day’ as Kim Soo-hyun Is Fully Edited Out in Final Episode

MBC’s star-studded variety program “Good Day” concludes its run with its 8th and final episode on April 13 at 9:10 p.m. (KST), bringing an end to the 2025 Good Day Project. The finale will showcase the full journey of recording the show’s theme song, blending performances by iconic vocalists with heartfelt studio sessions featuring the cast.

G-Dragon, who led the project, shared his gratitude in the final broadcast, “It was an honor to be a part of this. Even though the idea sounded ridiculous at first, the fact that people supported it for a good cause meant everything to me. I laughed so much while filming that I often went home with sore cheeks. Back when I was on break, I only had my BigBang members—now I have 30.”
He added that the project’s final song will be donated to a meaningful cause, saying, “The last puzzle piece will be delivered on behalf of our viewers,” as he placed the symbolic final piece to complete a heart-shaped puzzle on screen.

The finale also features a nostalgic moment: G-Dragon’s studio reunion with Jung Hyung-don after 12 years since their legendary Infinite Challenge Music Festival collaboration. Their chemistry brought both laughter and warmth, especially when Hyung-don delivered a hilariously “chill” vocal performance at G-Dragon’s request, prompting the cast to joke, “Now we know why he’s G-Dragon’s guy!”
Previously, G-Dragon reinterpreted two Urban Zakapa hits: “Telepathy” and “By the Moonlight Window” into a single emotional track. He was joined in the recording by CL (Chaelin), Hong Jin-kyung, Defconn, Jung Hyung-don, and Kian84. CL impressed everyone with her polished vocals, while Hong Jin-kyung’s audition-like nervousness led to an unexpected freestyle rap that left everyone, including G-Dragon, stunned.

Over its run, “Good Day” brought together an impressive cast of entertainers and celebrities including Jo Se-ho, Code Kunst, Hwang Jung-min, Lee Soo-hyuk, Im Si-wan, Hwang Kwang-hee, Jung Hae-in, Kim Go-eun, Chef Ahn Sung-jae, SEVENTEEN’s BSS unit, aespa, and more.
However, the show was not without controversy. Actor Kim Soo-hyun, initially introduced as part of the “’88s” lineup, was fully edited out of the final episodes following backlash related to his past association with actress Kim Sae-ron, who has been involved in a legal scandal. The show initially drew criticism for not removing his scenes entirely but later stated, “We recognize the seriousness of the controversy and are prioritizing viewer sentiment in our editing decisions.”
As “Good Day” concludes, it leaves behind a legacy of laughter, healing, and music. Whether as a nostalgic reunion, a creative collaboration, or a message of support to those in need, the project marks another meaningful chapter in G-Dragon’s multifaceted career.
