A recent post on the Korean online community Pann has brought back discussions surrounding G-Dragon‘s past pet ownership, particularly focusing on his dog, Gaho. The post alleges that negative comments about G-Dragon are being strategically placed in the comment sections of unrelated videos, aiming to revive old controversies.
A recent viral video featuring aespa’s Giselle has unexpectedly reignited controversy around G-Dragon, with many commenters criticizing him over past allegations of neglecting his dog, Gaho, despite the video being unrelated. Supporters pushed back, citing defenses from professionals like animal behaviorist Kang Hyung-wook and emphasizing that Gaho lived a long, well-cared-for life before passing away in late 2023.
Pann Post’s Caption
This YouTube Shorts video reached 1.25 million views and 275 comments within about 3 days of being uploaded.
The thumbnail and title both feature aespa’s Giselle.
However, the video also includes appearances by BLACKPINK’s Jennie and Rosé, Han So-hee, G-Dragon (with his cat), and Jo Kwon’s pet.

This means that if viewers clicked on the video because of Giselle, it would be unnatural for the comments to be overwhelmingly about G-Dragon and for those to be the top comments right from the beginning.
Yet, in the early hours after the upload, the comments section was flooded with negative comments about G-Dragon, recycling old rumors and accusations regarding his dog. These comments gained a disproportionate number of likes relative to the early view count.
(Think about it: What are the chances that, at the very beginning with such low viewership, hundreds of people who clicked because of a female idol thumbnail would suddenly be curious about G-Dragon’s dog Gaho?)

This is only a portion, among the 275 comments, about half are about G-Dragon. As time passed and views increased, naturally, the top comment changed to one that was actually relevant and funny in the context of the video. Of course, new hate comments about G-Dragon are still pouring in non-stop.
Netizens’ Reactions
The revived debate has divided netizens: some are frustrated by the recurring accusations and see them as targeted smear tactics, while others argue that celebrities should be held accountable for past behavior, regardless of how much time has passed.
Comments on Pann:
It’s such a shame to see someone use that much passion to hate on others, why don’t they just live their own life instead?
Even when there’s an explanation, they never listen, just mumbling the same things over and over again.
They must have nothing better to do and too much time on their hands to live like that… Even calling it pathetic feels like a waste of words.ㅠ
Wow, are we still dealing with this forced hate? They must really have nothing left to criticize. G-Dragon always ends up being the target of made-up accusations.
Always mumbling the same things, it’s like listening to someone with memory loss. I’m so sick of it. Ever since the official notice, they’ve stopped attacking him directly and started throwing shade indirectly, but it’s way too obvious.
In the end, while criticism is inevitable for public figures, the persistence of unfounded accusations even after clarifications reveals more about the motives of the accusers than the actions of the accused.
