Recently, CUBE Entertainment’s girl group (G)I-DLE made a comeback with their EP “I Sway” and the title track MV “Klaxon.” Entering the summer music race, “Klaxon” is a catchy and lively song. The MV is also built around a hot and seductive concept.

However, this comeback from (G)I-DLE has not met expectations. “Klaxon” has been criticized for lacking highlights, feeling monotonous, and not showcasing the group’s strengths. On domestic digital music charts, the song has not been doing as well as previous releases of the girl group.

Additionally, (G)I-DLE’s comeback with “Klaxon” is also facing criticisms over “overly exposed outfits”. In particular, the girl group’s stage outfits on “Music Bank” recently came under fire, with netizens complaining that the outer shorts were so short, it exposed the safety pants underneath.

Below are some comments from netizens:

  • I understand the concept they are going for, but it doesn’t suit the group at all… Too revealing.
  • It would be fine if the outfits were appropriate or looked good.
  • The outfits are really problematic. Why are they wearing children’s clothes with a seductive spirit like this?
  • I was shocked after seeing them on “Music Bank”. The shorts are too short and tight.
  • What is happening, a girl group that once fought against sexualization is now following such a cheap image?

It is notable that (G)I-DLE recently faced another controversy over dancing a hip-shake choreography while wearing bikinis, leading to the girl group’s image being negatively perceived by the public.

Facing the controversy, (G)I-DLE’s youngest member, Shuhua, still comfortably posted photos in the revealing outfit on Instagram. She posed seductively, showing off her sexy hips. In the comments section, a fan advised Shuhua to be more careful because “the shorts are too short.” In response, Shuhua bluntly dismissed the controversy by replying, “My legs are very long.”

This response of Shuhua has been drawing mixed reactions, with some showing support for the female idol over her confidence and nonchalant attitude. However, some netizens are rather displeased.
