Go Hyun-jung Breaks Silence on Death Rumors: “I Was Seriously Ill at Year-End”

On June 3, the 10th episode of Go Hyun-jung’s personal YouTube vlog was uploaded, showing the actress enjoying a trip to New York City with her production team.
Amid laughter and steak dinners, the mood turned reflective when one of the staff brought up the fake news about her alleged death.
“Wait, that actually happened? That’s shocking,” Go Hyun-jung said, visibly surprised.

But she also offered some context. “It might’ve come from people who saw how sick I was at the end of the year. I was in a very serious condition, close to critical. It was that bad,” she revealed.
Go Hyun-jung recalled the major surgery she had last December, which led her to miss the press conference for her drama Namib. At the time, her agency NSE&M explained that she had collapsed several times on set and was ultimately rushed to the emergency room. Doctors advised absolute rest, leading her to halt public activities.
Despite the severity of her condition, Go Hyun-jung smiled and reassured fans. “But I didn’t die!” she joked. “I’ve since recovered well, I’m healthy now. Thank you for worrying.”

After her successful surgery and recovery, she was discharged in January and returned to filming the SBS drama “The Mantis: Original Sin”, which she recently wrapped up before going on a well-earned break.
“I was in pain to the point even I was shocked, but after the surgery, I truly came to my senses,” she added candidly.
Go Hyun-jung’s honesty and humor in addressing such a serious subject have only deepened the public’s respect for her. As fans look forward to her upcoming projects, they’re also relieved to see the veteran actress smiling and healthy once again.
