Gong Hyo-jin Plans Move to New York After Kevin Oh’s Military Discharge: “Getting Ready to Live in the U.S.”
Actress Gong Hyo-jin has confirmed she’s preparing for a new chapter in the U.S. with her husband, singer-songwriter Kevin Oh, who is set to complete his military service this June.
On May 4, Gong Hyo-jin uploaded a Q&A video to her YouTube channel “Temporarily Gong Hyo-jin,” where she answered fans’ personal questions.
When asked about her 2025 travel plans, she revealed an itinerary that includes Belgium, Germany, Amsterdam, and finally, New York City, saying:
“I need to go to the U.S. to get ready to live there. I’m going right after [Kevin Oh’s] discharge.”
Gong also shared insights into her unique travel preferences, “What’s my travel style? Well, I’m an ENFP, so I don’t usually go to touristy spots. I’ve been to New York so many times, and I still haven’t seen the Statue of Liberty. Should I go see it at least once? I’m not the sightseeing type — I like to wander around casually and just hang out in one neighborhood like I live there.”
Quiet Couple, Private Life
Fans expressed interest in seeing more of Gong and Kevin as a couple. In response, Gong explained that while they have many couple photos, both she and Kevin have preferred to keep a low profile from the start:
“We have lots of those, but even before we got married, Kevin and I had a similar mindset. We both strongly felt the need to remain artists as ourselves.”
She added that as an actress, she has to be cautious about public image but emphasized they’re not actively avoiding attention just being selective.
“When people see couple shots, they say we look better together. But as an actress, it’s a bit more complicated for me. That doesn’t mean I avoid or hide them but I do try to be mindful about sharing.”
