Eun-jung Reflects on T-ara’s Bullying Scandal: “2012 Was Truly the Worst Year”

Eun-jung, former member of T-ara, has opened up about the most difficult chapter of her career, the 2012 bullying scandal, during a revealing fortune reading shared on her YouTube channel.
Eun-jung Reflects on T-ara’s Bullying Scandal
On April 27, Eun-jung posted a video titled “Record-Breaking Fortune Reading,” where she met with a fortune-teller specializing in the four pillars of destiny (saju). Reviewing Eun-jung’s life chart, the fortune-teller noted, “In 2010 and 2011, you had wealth luck. In 2012, there’s a ‘grave’ sign, indicating a halt in your activities. A year later, a ‘flower of grief’ appears. In 2013, signs of death emerge, and in 2014, signs of illness.”
Reacting to the eerily accurate reading, Eun-jung said, “We received settlements for money earned during T-ara‘s promotions only back then. It’s incredible. 2012 was truly the worst year,” showing visible amazement and emotional reflection.
T-ara, who debuted in 2009 with “Lies,” quickly ascended the ranks of K-pop fame with massive hits like “Bo Peep Bo Peep,” “Roly-Poly,” and “Cry Cry.” However, their soaring career faced a devastating blow in 2012 when allegations of bullying against new member Ryu Hwa-young surfaced. Public backlash was swift and harsh, turning the group into a national target of criticism.

The scandal’s impact on Eun-jung was especially severe. She was forced to withdraw from her role in the drama Five Fingers, further deepening the personal and professional toll. Although T-ara attempted a comeback with “Day by Day” after Hwa-young’s departure, their reputation and domestic popularity never fully recovered.
Later releases like “Number Nine” offered a brief resurgence, but the group eventually faded from the Korean mainstream. By 2017, after the expiration of their contracts with MBK Entertainment, T-ara’s group activities essentially came to an end.
Fortune Teller Predicts No “Macho” Husband for Eun-jung, But a Future with Children
During her detailed saju session, the fortune-teller made additional revelations about Eun-jung’s destiny. “You have the energy of metal and were born like a jewel. You have both ‘flower of grief’ and ‘peach blossom’ energies. However, your chart lacks the element of fire, which represents either a career or a husband,” the fortune-teller explained. “No husband is seen, but children are.”

The comment visibly flustered Eun-jung, prompting the fortune-teller to offer clarification: “This doesn’t mean you won’t get married. It means hierarchical, top-down relationships are difficult for you. If a man tries to assert dominance, it won’t work well. It refers to a macho type of man, which is why no husband appears in your saju.”
Currently, Eun-jung is focusing on her acting career and is active in the drama Queen’s House. Despite the hardships of the past, she continues to evolve, showing strength and resilience as she builds a new chapter in her career and personal life.
