Han Ga-in’s “You Quiz” Episode Made Private on TVING: Due to “Overzealous Mom” Backlash?
According to Star News on March 6, episode 282 of tvN’s variety show “You Quiz on the Block” (You Quiz) has been made private on the OTT platform TVING.
The episode, which aired on February 26, featured actress Han Ga-in as a guest.
However, as Han Ga-in recently became a prominent figure associated with the keywords “Dochi-mom (hedgehog mom)”, “Daechi-mom (Daechi-dong + mom)” and “overzealous mom”, public opinion turned negative against her, seemingly prompting TVING to temporarily make the episode private.
Recently, comedian Lee Soo-ji’s fake documentary with the concept of “Daechi-dong Moms” went viral, and Han Ga-in became unintentionally involved in the controversy. This stemmed from her past video showing herself driving her children to academy lessons. As a result, even her children were subjected to malicious comments, leading Han Ga-in to eventually make the video private.
Regarding this, PD Ahn Joo-hee of Honeybee Studio, who is in charge of producing videos for Han Ga-in’s YouTube channel, told Star News, “It is true that the video of Han Ga-in picking up her children, which was uploaded last year, has been taken down. There are no plans for re-uploading.” When asked about the reason, PD Ahn explained, “There were too many malicious comments targeting Han Ga-in’s children. It was taken down to protect them.”
Later, during her “You Quiz” appearance, Han Ga-in clarified, “Because of my image, people think I force my kids to study excessively, but that is absolutely not the case.” However, malicious comments against her have continued to this day.
Although Han Ga-in’s “You Quiz” episode has been made private, clips of her interview remain available on “You Quiz”‘s official website, portal sites and YouTube.
