According to a report by TenAsia on April 14, Heo Joon-ho has received an offer to appear in the drama and is reportedly leaning toward accepting the role. He has been offered the part of a renowned writer who is also a university classmate of the main character, Moon-oh, a role said to hold significant narrative weight.

“The Boy in the Last Row” is based on the Spanish play of the same name by writer Juan Mayorga. The story centers on Moon-oh, a literature professor who becomes captivated by the writing of his student, Lee Kang, who always sits in the back row of the lecture hall. This discovery leads Moon-oh to confront long-buried dreams and desires.
The drama will be directed by Kim Kyu-tae, known for “Live” and “Our Blues,” with a screenplay by Jang Myung-woo, who previously adapted the film “The Little Mermaid.” The project is a joint production by Kakao Entertainment and GTist.

He captured a range of complex emotions, ranging from madness to obsession and rage, with striking precision.
If confirmed, Heo’s involvement in “The Boy in the Last Row” would mark another major addition to a cast already packed with talent, heightening expectations for the drama’s release.
