Dancers Honey J and Aiki have come under fire for their reactions to the broadcast of “World of Street Woman Fighter”, and their apologies have sparked mixed reactions among netizens.
The controversy began on June 21, when dancer Hyojin Choi uploaded a reaction video to Episode 1 of “World of SWF” on her YouTube channel. In the video, Honey J commented on another dancer’s performance, saying, “Is that even dancing, you f*king [slur]?” Meanwhile, Aiki was caught exclaiming “You f*king b****!” as a reaction to a scene.

As a result, on June 22, Honey J issued a public apology via her social media, saying, “I sincerely apologize to those who were hurt by my careless words in the video, and to the many who support me for causing disappointment and discomfort.”
She explained “While watching the premiere with the members in a relaxed atmosphere, I became too immersed and reacted too strongly”, adding, “I deeply reflect on the discomfort caused by my rash remarks.”
Almost simultaneously, Aiki issued her own apology, also posting a black image with a written statement. “This is Aiki. I sincerely apologize to anyone who felt uncomfortable due to the emotional and intense language I used in a recently released reaction video”, the female dancer stated before acknowledging that her passion for the performances caused her to become overly emotional but recognized that such reactions must not hurt others.

Aiki also extended her apologies to the opposing crew and vowed, “From now on, I will communicate with more sensitivity regardless of the situation.”
Following their apologies, online reactions were divided. Some netizens supported them, commenting, “Is this really something to apologize for?”, “They just used strong language people are being too sensitive”, “Everyone makes mistakes” and “At least they owned up to it and apologized that’s admirable.” However, others criticized them, saying, “I’m disappointed”, “Using that kind of language toward foreign dancers is disrespectful”, “They should have been more careful” and “It’s shameful and unfortunate.”
Meanwhile, the video at the center of the controversy has currently been deleted from the YouTube channel.
