Hwasa Wears Another Controversial Revealing Outfit: “No Restrictions on U.S. Shows, I Love It”

On April 5, the YouTube channel “SSTW” released a video featuring Hwasa.
Currently on her North American tour, Hwasa captivated the large LA stage in a sparkling bodysuit, exuding charisma.
Regarding her U.S. tour, Hwasa explained, “Technically, it’s not a concert—it’s a live tour. I called it that because I felt I wasn’t ready to do it properly. I wanted to gather more songs and enrich the setlist. People are paying a lot to attend, so I didn’t want it to feel lacking. I waited for a good lineup of songs.” She added, “Then Psy casually suggested I do a fan-con instead of a full concert. He said if the idea of a concert was burdensome, I should do something lighter since I probably wanted to meet fans anyway.”

Compared to her Korean performances, what stood out most in the U.S. shows was the absence of restrictions. Hwasa said, “I felt like going without limits on the level [of sexiness or exposure]. In Korea, I still feel like I have to think things through.” When the interviewer commented “The Americans seemed to love it”, Hwasa smiled brightly and responded, “I loved it too. I prepared without much worry, so it was really great.”
Hwasa also shares her thoughts on online hate. When asked what it takes to become a “hot girl”, she admitted, “The path to becoming a hot girl is really tough. Really tough. I shed a lot of blood and tears. I think people who insult me are just jealous.”

Meanwhile, Hwasa has faced multiple controversies over revealing outfits. In 2018, she wore a tight bodysuit at the 2018 MAMA stage, which was criticized as overly provocative. In 2023, she again stirred controversy during a university festival performance, where she licked her hand and placed it near a certain body part. In response to the backlash, Hwasa appeared on the YouTube show “Don’t Forget Your Breakfast” last year and bowed her head, saying, “There must have been a lot of people who were uncomfortable. I guess I need to reflect on that too.”
