HYBE Latin America Launches Survival Show to Scout Regional Mexican Band

HYBE Latin America is kicking off a major project aimed at shaking up the Latin music scene with its new survival audition show ‘Pase a la Fama’.

Set to premiere on June 8 (U.S. time) on the Spanish-language network Telemundo, Pase a la Fama is a music competition designed to form a new Mexican band. Telemundo, a subsidiary of NBCUniversal, is beloved by Latin viewers across the U.S. for its wide array of dramas, reality shows, and news programming.

A large number of talented musicians from diverse backgrounds auditioned, and only 55 contestants have been selected to enter the Pase a la Fama artist camp. During the show, viewers will witness a rigorous training process and fierce competition unfold. The final winning team will receive a $100,000 prize and the opportunity to sign a record deal with HYBE Latin America.

The show’s title, which translates to “A Step Toward Fame,” also features industry heavyweights. Edgar Barrera, a 21-time Latin Grammy Award winner and recipient of a Grammy at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards, will produce the theme song and original music for the series.

Judging the competition are iconic Mexican musicians including:

  • Ana Bárbara, singer and actress known for her influence in Regional Mexican music.
  • Adriel Favela, a genre-crossing artist blending tradition with modern sounds.
  • Horacio Palencia, one of the most influential hitmakers in Latin music.

HYBE has established HYBE Latin America to expand its presence in the Latin American music market. The subsidiary aims to manage HYBE Labels artists, develop new talents, and create localized content by integrating K-pop business methodologies into the Latin genre.
