Idol-actress Hyeri recently starred in the girl love K-drama “Friendly Rivalry”, which previously went viral due to a steamy same-sex scene, where Hyeri kissed her female co-star in a bathtub. At the time, the risqué nature of the scene and its just-as-suggestive dialogue, “You look cuter when you are wet”, became the talk of the town.

However, “Friendly Rivalry” has come under criticism after Hyeri was featured in another racy kiss – this time with a male actor.
In particular, during the series’ latest episode, actress Oh Woo-ri, who plays Choi Kyeong, imagined Hyeri with a male character, and the two’s scene quickly turned spicy as they got intimate.
While the scene was just imaginary, Hyeri’s kiss with a male character sparked controversial reactions, as it was considered out-of-place in a girl love drama.
“When all I want is to see only women, but a guy always pops up”, a netizen said, while another went as far as to describe the kiss scene as a “jumpscare”.
Comments such as “Like did they have to throw a dude in the mix? Don’t just throw dudes in for no reason”, “I got jumpscared by this scene WHY WAS THAT KISS SO MESSY EW”, and “I don’t understand what’s the need for including that” can also be seen across the net.
