Hyun Bin Injured His Back While Filming “Harbin”, Performed Action Scenes Without Stunt Double

On January 13, Hyun Bin and director Woo Min-ho appeared as guests on MBC FM4U’s “Perfect Day with Lee Sang-soon”.
When asked why he performed the action scenes without a stunt double, Hyun Bin explained, “This allows the camera to capture the actor more closely. If a double is used, it’s difficult to convey the actor’s face and expressions.”

He added, “In our movie, it was important to fully capture the desperate struggles on camera, so I chose to perform them myself. During one scene where I had to lift someone and throw them backward, I injured my back. I think I overstrained myself.”
Lee Sang-soon, who had watched the film with his wife Lee Hyo-ri, noted the frequent smoking scenes, asking if it was difficult for the actors. Hyun Bin replied, “Some actors smoked real cigarettes, but I used nicorettes.”
Meanwhile, “Harbin” is set in 1909 and tells the intense story of those heading to Harbin with a singular purpose and the relentless chase and suspicion among them. The film is currently showing in theaters nationwide.
