Hyun Bin Thanks “Illegitimate Child Scandal” Jung Woo-sung for Special Cameo in “Harbin”
On the morning of Dec 19th, an interview with Hyun Bin about the movie “Harbin” took place at a café in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul. Hyun Bin appeared in a neat, dandy look without the glasses he wore during two previous press conferences, radiating a bright smile and showing off his signature deep dimples as he entered the interview venue.
“Harbin” is a gripping story set in 1909, depicting the intense pursuits and suspicions between those heading to Harbin with a singular purpose and those chasing them. The film centers on Ahn Jung-geun (played by Hyun Bin), with Woo Deok-sun (Park Jeong-min), Kim Sang-hyun (Jo Woo-jin), Ms. Gong (Jeon Yeo-been), Choi Jae-hyung (Yoo Jae-myung) and Lee Chang-seop (Lee Dong-wook) joining as part of the independence army. They journey through Vladivostok to Harbin to eliminate Itō Hirobumi (Lily Franky), navigating dangerous pursuits by the Japanese army along the way.
The independence army, needing explosives for their mission, receives assistance from Ms. Gong. Jung Woo-sung appears as a former independence fighter-turned-bandit in this process.
Speaking about Jung Woo-sung, Hyun Bin said, “Despite not having many scenes, he agreed to make a special appearance, which I’m so grateful for. Moreover, it wasn’t even shot domestically but in Mongolia. I’m deeply thankful for him enduring the long hours and journey with us.”
He added, “We didn’t talk much on set, but we did a lot of rehearsals together. The character is quite different from a typical independence fighter, so we all sat together for several rounds of rehearsals.”
Jung Woo-sung recently made headlines for fathering a child out of wedlock. The controversy intensified as he declared he would not marry the child’s mother, Moon Ga-bi, making the situation a hot topic.
“Harbin” is set to premiere on Dec 24th.
