“Ignoring Fan Assault” Jessi Breaks Silence After A Month “Grateful To Fans, Growing Into A Woman Navigating Industry”
On December 2, Jessi posted a heartfelt message in English through her social media account, marking her 19th debut anniversary and expressing gratitude to fans while briefly addressing the controversy.
She wrote, “I can’t believe it’s already been 19 years. To my Jebbies (fans), thank you for being a part of this journey with me. Your unwavering belief and support through the highs and lows of my career mean everything to me. I truly wouldn’t be here without you.”
She continued, “Life is a journey, and with it come peaks and valleys – never a steady, predictable path. Together, we’ve experienced this rollercoaster ride, and I’m so grateful to have had you by my side. Starting this journey as a young girl moving to Korea alone, I’ve grown into a woman navigating this industry.” This briefly touched on the controversy.
Jessi concluded, “The challenges I’ve faced have taught me that no one knows my heart and struggles better than I do. Through it all, your belief in me has been my greatest strength, and I hope I can inspire you to be fearless in chasing your dreams and never give up on your goals. I love you Jebbies so much.”
The fan immediately reported the incident to the police, who later found Jessi’s entourage at a nearby bar. Jessi’s entourage denied the assault, and the police initially did not take further action.
However, as public outrage grew, the police reopened the investigation. Jessi appeared for questioning last month and stated, “I hope the assailant is found quickly and faces justice. I told the authorities everything I know. I had never met the attacker before.”
The incident also led to Jessi parting ways with her agency DOD, with their exclusive contract ending just a month later, signaling a challenging period for the artist.
