ILLIT’s Wonhee to Make Acting Debut in New SBS Drama

Rising K-pop idol Wonhee from the rookie girl group ILLIT is stepping into the acting world with a special appearance in the upcoming SBS youth drama “Spring of Youth.” This marks her official acting debut, adding a fresh twist to her rapidly blossoming career.

On April 24, the drama’s production team confirmed the news, sharing, “Wonhee gladly accepted the request for a special appearance.” To stir anticipation, still cuts of her character were also released—featuring Wonhee in a simple white t-shirt, jeans, and a checkered shirt. Her minimal makeup and effortlessly radiant look immediately captured fans’ attention, highlighting her natural charm.

Wonhee won’t be the only familiar face joining the special cast. FT Island’s Lee Hong-gi is also making a return to the screen, delighting longtime fans since his iconic role as Jeremy in “You’re Beautiful.” The production team praised both stars, stating, “Wonhee and Lee Hong-gi brought their unique personalities and stole the scenes they appeared in.”

“Spring of Youth” follows the story of Sa-gye (played by Ha Yujun), a K-pop band member who faces sudden expulsion from his group and later finds hope and redemption after meeting Kim Bom (played by Park Ji-hoo). The drama promises to deliver a touching tale of youthful dreams, hardships, and second chances.

Fans can catch the premiere on May 6–7 with special episodes, followed by weekly airings every Wednesday on SBS. Wonhee’s debut has already sparked buzz among both drama and K-pop fans alike, with many eager to see how her on-screen presence will complement her idol persona.
