Im Si-wan & Ahn Bo-hyun cut ties with Kim Soo-hyun? Clean up SNS following list
Recently, a topic on Korean forum Instiz pointed out that Ahn Bo-hyun, who previously followed Kim Soo-hyun on Instagram, is now following nobody on the SNS platform.
Meanwhile, previously as of 9 AM on April 2, Im Si-wan’s official Instagram account is following only one account his agency, Plum A&C. With over 3.73 million followers, the fact that he is following just a single account has drawn attention.
At the same time, online communities began to circulate reports that Im Si-wan had reorganized his following list as of April 1. Prior to the cleanup, he was reportedly following 87 accounts. Among them was actor Kim Soo-hyun, who is currently facing widespread controversy in the entertainment industry over allegations that he dated the late Kim Sae-ron while she was still a minor.
Kim Soo-hyun and Im Si-wan were previously known for their connection as fellow “88-liners” from MBC’s variety show “Good Day“. Amid the dating allegations involving Kim Sae-ron, some fans had been urging Im Si-wan via social media to cut ties with Kim Soo-hyun.
“Good Day” is a music project where G-Dragon teams up with people from various fields to create a “song of the year”. Actors Kim Soo-hyun, Jung Hae-in, Lee Soo-hyuk, Im Si-wan and entertainer Hwang Kwang-hee formed the group known as “88-line” with G-Dragon, gaining significant public attention.
While it is unclear whether Im Si-wan and Ahn Bo-hyun unfollowed Kim Soo-hyun intentionally, many social media users and online community commenters are speculating about the motive behind the cleanup. Comments include, “It might’ve been awkward to unfollow just one person”, “Seems like a wise move” and “Well done.”
At the same time, many questioned why the celebrities are so “afraid” to just unfollow Kim Soo-Hyun alone. Some, on the other hand, asserted that it’s actually better that the celebrities unfollowed everyone, as it will help them avoid future controversies as well.
