
According to a report by Yonhap News on May 23, Im Soo-ah passed away on May 22. She was 73 years old.
That same day, fellow voice actor Jung Sung-hoon posted a tribute on his social media, writing, “I extend my deepest condolences to senior Im Soo-ah.”

Im joined the TBC Voice Acting Troupe in 1968 as part of its 4th generation and was reclassified as part of the 10th generation at KBS in 1980 following the Policy for Merger and Abolition of the Press.
During her lifetime, she lent her voice to numerous works including the animations Zatch Bell, Slayers, Detective Conan, Future Boy Conan, Anne of Green Gables, Kindaichi Case Files, Alice in Wonderland, Sleeping Beauty, and dubbed foreign productions such as Doctor Who, Romeo and Juliet, and Cinema Paradiso.


Im Soo-ah’s passing marks a significant loss to the Korean voice acting community and anime fans alike. Her contributions have left an indelible mark on generations of viewers who grew up hearing her iconic voice.
