“Infinite Challenge” Begins Its 20th Anniversary in Splendor: From GD X Jung Hyung Don to Calendar Release

MBC’s “Infinite Challenge” aired from 2005 to March 31, 2018, meeting viewers every Saturday. Having recorded a peak viewership rating of 28.9%, “Infinite Challenge” received immense love and established itself as a “national variety show” by delivering laughter, emotion and messages through various special features.
Even after its conclusion, the longing and affection for “Infinite Challenge” did not fade. There were loud calls for the members, such as Yoo Jae Suk, Park Myung Soo, Jeong Jun Ha and Haha, to reunite for Season 2, and “Infinite Challenge” continued to maintain its status as a “national variety show” by being summoned in various ways. In particular, the meme “There’s nothing that ‘Infinite Challenge’ doesn’t have” has gained immense popularity whenever there’s an issue.

As “Infinite Challenge” is approaching its 20th anniversary next year, MBC took the initiative. They announced the release of a 20th-anniversary commemorative calendar through their official account. The 20th-anniversary calendar features the iconic scenes from “Infinite Challenge” that are still talked about today. The description “We invite you to ‘Infinite Challenge’. A collection of iconic scenes from ‘Infinite Challenge’, one per day” is impressive.
Pre-orders for the “Infinite Challenge” 2025 calendar, which can be pre-ordered starting at 6 PM on December 11th, are known to have all proceeds donated. As if waiting for this, countless fans flocked to the pre-order website, causing it to crash. This is a testament to the popularity of “Infinite Challenge”.
For the 20th anniversary, G-Dragon and Jung Hyung Don will reunite with PD Kim Tae Ho. G-Dragon previously appeared as a guest on “Infinite Challenge” and participated in the “Infinite Company” sketch and the Song Festivals. Jung Hyung Don was an original member of “Infinite Challenge”. He worked with the program for a long time and achieved great growth through it.

What’s more impressive is that PD Kim Tae Ho is collaborating with MBC again. After leaving the company in December 2021, leaving behind “Infinite Challenge” and “Hangout With Yoo”, Kim Tae Ho established the production company TEO and has presented various entertainment content.
The variety show featuring G-Dragon and Jung Hyung Don with PD Kim Tae Ho is tentatively titled “GD and Friends”. According to broadcasting officials, the production team came up with the idea in response to fans’ requests for a reunion between the two, and G-Dragon actively recruited Jung Hyung Don. G-Dragon and Jung Hyung Don gained much love for their collaboration at the “Infinite Challenge” Song Festival.
The 20th anniversary of “Infinite Challenge” in 2025 is just around the corner. As a nationally beloved variety show, the beginning of its 20th anniversary is already hot. It remains to be seen how “Infinite Challenge” will respond to the fans’ calls.
