On July 11, it was revealed that the upcoming drama Inside Men, inspired by the acclaimed film of the same name, has officially postponed production and will undergo a major cast change.

A source from the drama team stated, “Filming for Inside Men was supposed to begin, but we were recently informed by the production team that the schedule has been pushed back.” Cast members were told that the project would be on hold for approximately two to three months, with production expected to resume at an unspecified date

Adding to the unexpected developments, Song Kang-ho, who was slated to star in the lead role originally portrayed by Baek Yoon-sik in the film adaptation has officially stepped down. According to reports, the production team is now searching for a replacement.

Production company HYBE Media Corp confirmed the delay, explaining that the drama, initially envisioned as a two-season project, is being restructured into a single 12-episode series. The revised format has extended the overall filming timeline, which reportedly conflicted with Song Kang-ho’s future projects, prompting his departure.

Inside Men will span the politically turbulent decades of the 1980s and 1990s in South Korea, weaving together real events and fictional characters into a high-stakes political thriller. The series is directed by Mo Wan-il, known for hits like Misty and The World of the Married, while the screenplay is penned by Lee Ki-cheol, whose credits include The Thieves, Assassination, and Escape from Mogadishu.

The drama remains in pre-production with hopes to begin filming later this year.
