The image of BABYMONSTER’s Ruka seems to draw inspiration from BLACKPINK’s Jennie
After YG confirmed BABYMONSTER would debut without Ahyeon, the “ace” of the group, concerns were raised that BABYMONSTER would lose the initial hype as Ahyeon is not only the most popular member but also has the most outstanding skills. From her visuals, aura to talents, Ahyeon bears a resemblance to BLACKPINK’s Jennie.
While the public remained skeptical about the performance of the remaining six BABYMONSTER members, YG recently released a teaser video and photos of Ruka. Ruka’s visuals in the teaser have reminded many of Jennie. Could she be the next Jennie of YG instead of Ahyeon?
Ruka is the second Japanese member of BABYMONSTER, alongside Asa. She joined YG in 2018, underwent 5 years of training, and is the oldest member of BABYMONSTER. Ruka’s training period is as long as BLACKPINK’s Rosé. She can dance and rap well. She is expected to be the main rapper of BABYMONSTER. Yang Hyunsuk and choreographer Lee Jung both praised Ruka’s dance skills.
In the latest teasers, Ruka impresses with a strong and confident aura in a red outfit. Ruka’s gaze is especially captivating. Ruka exudes a chic and cool aura reminiscent of YG’s style, particularly Jennie.
Ruka poses, cold expressions, hairstyle, and outfit all seem to take inspiration from Jennie. Ruka’s figure is also similar to Jennie’s. YG’s CEO once spoke of the ambition to “create 10 Jennies,” and it’s likely that Ruka is being directed towards a chic, cool image akin to Jennie.
