Recently, NME magazine’s Twitter account unexpectedly attracted over 170,000 views when it revealed Jisoo’s earnings for her participation in “Snowdrop.” Accordingly, Jisoo received a payment of up to $80,000 per episode. With a total of 16 episodes in the series, the actress could potentially earn a grand total of $1,280,000 upon completing all the scenes in “Snowdrop.”
It is evident that compared to top actors in the Korean entertainment industry like Song Hye Kyo and Jeon Ji Hyun, Jisoo’s salary is still highly impressive. According to South Korean media reports earlier this year, Song Hye Kyo and Jeon Ji Hyun were reportedly earning around 200 million Korean Won, equivalent to $162,595 for each episode. Therefore, while Jisoo’s earnings may only be half of what her senior colleagues receive, $80,000 per episode is still a dream for many other idols and actors.
Notably, before deciding to venture into acting, Jisoo had already gained immense fame as a member of the globally renowned girl group BLACKPINK. Her commercial value and influence as an idol are indisputable. Particularly, despite debuting and achieving success with BLACKPINK as a singer, Jisoo also possessed a strong foundation in acting prior to her debut in the industry.
