G-Dragon and IU’s Heartwarming Meeting on ‘Good Day’: “A Fellow Artist with Much to Learn From”

On the 7th episode of MBC’s variety show “Good Day” (directed by Kim Tae-ho, produced by TEO), airing on April 6, the meeting of G-Dragon and IU brought together through “IU’s Palette” will be revealed.
As part of the “Good Day” project, G-Dragon plans to remake classic songs by veteran artists. Before diving into the group song recording, he meets IU to gather musical inspiration.

IU catches attention with a signature scarf look reminiscent of G-Dragon’s trademark fashion. G-Dragon, who coincidentally didn’t wear a scarf on the day of recording, was said to have quickly thrown one on so IU wouldn’t feel awkward, creating a heartwarming moment on set.
Speaking of IU, with whom he shares a warm relationship as industry colleagues, G-Dragon says, “We’ve worked together before, and she’s a fellow artist I can learn a lot from. She’s younger than me, but she has incredible talent in interpreting veteran songs, so I wanted to ask her for ideas for our group track.”

IU is well-known for her “Kkot-Galpi (Flower Bookmark)” series, where she reinterprets classics like “Meaning of You” and “Autumn Morning” with her unique emotional touch. G-Dragon, who confesses that while he loves many older songs, he feels pressure about remaking them, receives strong empathy from IU—raising curiosity about what kind of ideas she may have shared with him ahead of recording.
Previously, “Good Day” had canceled its March 23 broadcast due to Kim Soo Hyun’s personal controversy. Though the production team only stated it was for “_program reorganization_”, the March 30 episode aired with all footage of Kim Soo Hyun completely edited out, drawing attention.
Meanwhile, MBC’s “Good Day” is a music project in which G-Dragon collaborates with people from various fields to create a “Song of the Year”. Episode 7 will air Sunday, April 6 at 9:10 PM KST.
