The cast of Netflix’s “When Life Gives You Tangerines“ made a surprise reunion at the VIP premiere of “Yadang: The Snitch,” generating buzz online.
On the evening of April 15, the premiere for director Hwang Byung-guk’s new film “Yadang: The Snitch” was held at Megabox COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul.
While familiar faces such as Uhm Tae-woong making his first public appearance in eight years Lee Min-ho, Ha Ji-won, Lee Joo-young, Hyeri, Lee Yu-bi, Kim Sung-kyun, and Single’s Inferno 4’s Lee Si-an graced the photo wall, what truly stirred buzz was the quiet reunion of the “When Life Gives You Tangerines” cast from the Netflix series.
One fan caught IU quietly entering the venue wearing a mask, sharing photos online with the caption, “Geum-myeong from ‘When Life Gives You Tangerines’ is here!” IU had played Park Hae-joon’s daughter, Geum-myeong, in the Netflix series.
Kim Seon-ho was also spotted, drawing reactions like “Chung-seop is here too!” and “Park Hae-joon’s son-in-law showed up!” a reference to his cameo as Geum-myeong’s husband in the drama.
Actor Kang You-seok, who played Gwan-sik’s son Eun-myeong, also attended. Fans playfully commented, “What a filial son!”
Choi Dae-hoon, who gained widespread love for his role as “Uncle Hak-ssi,” received enthusiastic reactions as well. Photos of him greeting fans with a bright smile prompted comments like “He came to see his in-law’s movie,” and “So handsome without the character’s persona,” with netizens expressing affection for the “When Life Gives You Tangerines” family reunion.
Earlier that morning, Park Hae-joon hinted at the potential reunion during an interview with Xports News, saying, “You’ll have to see tonight to find out if the Bokssak cast is coming. Everyone’s busy, so it depends on the situation. But if they do come, I’d be really happy to see them again.”
Park Hae-joon, who showed a dramatic transformation from the warm-hearted father Gwan-sik to the tenacious narcotics detective Oh Sang-jae, has drawn strong interest from “When Life Gives You Tangerines” viewers eager to see his new performance.
Meanwhile, “Yadang: The Snitch” officially premiered on April 16.
