On April 18, a video titled “IU, Stories She’s Never Told Before” was uploaded to the YouTube channel Baek Eun-ha’s Exchange Talk.
During the conversation, Baek Eun-ha remarked, “While the character Gwan-sik is powerful, I feel Park Bo-gum as a person can’t be just all good without complexity.” She asked IU about working with Park Bo-gum on the Netflix series.

IU responded, “Bo-gum is a good person, but he’s also very clear-cut. As a same-age friend, I felt he always makes the right judgments.”
She shared an episode where Bo-gum momentarily dropped his usual warm demeanor. IU recalled, “There was a young child actor who suddenly said a swear word it wasn’t terribly offensive, but clearly something they didn’t understand. Bo-gum gently held the child’s shoulders and said, ‘Do you know what that word means? Promise me you won’t use it again.’ Watching him step up as an adult in that moment I thought that was really admirable.”

Baek Eun-ha responded, “That’s probably why he’s able to keep working steadily. He could’ve overlooked it, but it seems like he has strong principles.” IU added, “He’s definitely someone who holds himself to high standards.”
Park Bo-gum is consistently praised for his kind personality, both on set and during his military service. Because of this character, he has been compared to a real-life Gwan-sik and has grown even more beloved over time.
