IU, the Icon of Consideration: A Heartwarming Gesture Amid the Sangam Concert Controversy
On Sep 20th, several photos of garbage bags gifted by IU’s side were shared on the Mapo-gu community. Residents of an apartment near the Seoul World Cup Stadium posted these images, which featured a note stating, “The 2024 IU Concert will be held at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on Sep 21st~22nd, 2024. We kindly ask for your understanding, residents.“
Residents responded enthusiastically, saying things like, “I was touched by IU’s thoughtfulness” and “This is the first time I’ve received such a gift.”
IU will hold the “2024 IU Hereh World Tour Concert Encore: The Winning” at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on Sep 21st and 22nd. The concert quickly sold out all 100,000 seats, proving artist IU’s popularity.
Recently, after soccer player Son Heung-min publicly pointed out issues with the stadium’s grass management, there was a request to cancel IU’s concert to focus on the field’s upkeep for the Iraq match.
