On the August 28th broadcast of MBC’s “Radio Star”, Haewon appeared as a guest and talked about how she earned the title of the first official comedian from JYP Entertainment, a company known for its “no-fun” image.

She said, “They say I’m the next after senior Jo Kwon. I debuted in 2022, so there was quite a gap. But I’m the first to hold the title of an official comedian.”

When asked if she’s naturally funny, Haewon replied, “In school, I was the type to be the clown, goofing around behind the lockers.”

Haewon then shared a story about an interaction with J.Y. Park. She revealed, “I told PD J.Y. Park that I was feeling a lot of pressure about appearing on variety shows and didn’t know what to do. He told me, ‘You’re a singer anyway, so don’t try to be funny.’ But then, I saw him doing imitations when he appeared on ‘Radio Star’.

Hearing this, Kim Gura joked “JYP only wants to be the funny one among JYP artists“, to which Haewon responded with “Could it be that he’s trying to keep me in check?“, bringing laughter to the studio.
