Jang Shin-young Breaks Down Over Jang Shin-young’s Affair, Faces Backlash for ‘Exploiting Misery’

On the January 24th episode of KBS2’s “Stars’ Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant,” a preview featuring Jang Shin-young was aired. She appeared with a bright smile, saying, “My confident dish is side dishes,” as she cooked and happily held her second child in her arms. However, in the end, while preparing meals for her family, she seemed to hold back something and burst into tears.

This has led to speculation that Jang Shin-young might again share her thoughts on Kang Kyung-joon’s affair controversy.

Jang Shin-young, who raised her son alone after her divorce, remarried Kang Kyung-joon in 2018 and had a second son. The family later appeared on KBS2’s “The Return of Superman” and other variety programs, showcasing their harmonious life. Many fans, moved by Kang Kyung-joon’s love for Jang Shin-young and her son, supported the couple, calling it “true love.”

However, the dream came crashing down in just five years. In December 2023, Kang Kyung-joon was accused of being the other man. The plaintiff, identified as A, filed a lawsuit demanding 50 million won in damages. A claimed that Kang Kyung-joon knowingly engaged in an affair with A’s wife. Although Kang Kyung-joon denied the affair, the case ended with a settlement. In the settlement, he accepted A’s claim, effectively acknowledging the affair.

As criticism towards Kang Kyung-joon poured in, Jang Shin-young revealed in August 2024, “My husband and I had many discussions. He repeatedly blamed himself and reflected on his actions. We’ve gone through painful times, but we are living together again for our children.” In October of the same year, on SBS “My Ugly Duckling,” she also shared, “I didn’t want to end things with divorce. I thought about how to minimize the hurt for our child and how we could live more comfortably like we used to.”
